Liona Joins the DOW SkillBridge Program

blogDetails

Liona has been selected to participate in the Department of War (DOW) SkillBridge Program, opening a structured pathway for transitioning service members to build real-world civilian work experience through immersive training and internships. This opportunity aligns Liona with a federal workforce initiative that connects highly trained military professionals with employers and organizations during the final months of active service.

SkillBridge allows service members within their last 180 days of duty to engage in industry-relevant internships, apprenticeships, or on-the-job training while continuing to receive military compensation and benefits. Participants gain hands-on exposure to civilian work environments, strengthen professional networks, and position themselves for post-service employment. Approval from a service member’s chain of command is required, and opportunities span a wide range of fields and employers.

For transitioning military personnel, SkillBridge provides access to practical training with partner organizations that value leadership, discipline, and technical expertise developed in the armed forces. Many participants leverage these placements to secure full-time roles after service, though placement outcomes depend on individual performance and employer needs.

Liona’s participation in SkillBridge reflects a commitment to supporting military talent and strengthening pathways from service to civilian careers. Interested candidates can explore current opportunities, eligibility criteria, and application details through the official SkillBridge portal at skillbridge.osd.mil.
